The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course by the American Heart Association, offered through Alliance Coastal Education LLC, is designed for healthcare providers directly involved in the resuscitation of a patient in a critical medical setting. The course combines didactic lectures and hands-on sessions simulating adult care in cardiovascular and neurological emergencies.

The ACLS course emphasizes:

  • The importance of quality CPR and basic life support for patient survival
  • Early management of peri-arrest conditions
  • Managing cardiac arrest
  • Identifying and treating ischemic chest pain and acute coronary syndromes
  • Recognizing other life-threatening clinical situations, such as stroke, and providing initial care
  • Understanding and applying ACLS algorithms
  • Building effective resuscitation team dynamics

Please note that all participants must hold a current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification to take part in this course. Participants may complete the Online Heartsaver® BLS for Healthcare Providers course before class and be tested on BLS skills in class to receive a new BLS certification card that matches their ACLS certification expiration date.

Examination

To certify, students must proficiently demonstrate skills and achieve a score of 84% or higher on the written examination. If students do not meet these requirements, they will be remediated and given an additional attempt to test.

Certification

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive an American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider certification, which is valid for 2 years from the date of the course.

Course Prerequisites

  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification for Healthcare Providers Card
  • Students must pass the online ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment with a score of 70% or higher

Required Course Materials

  • American Heart Association ACLS Provider Manual, or
  • AHA eBook ACLS Provider Manual, the electronic equivalent of the printed version

The American Heart Association requires all Providers to have an ACLS Provider Manual for entry into the course. The ACLS Provider Manual can be purchased at checkout and will be provided on the day of the course. Please note that when ordering eBooks online, access codes are typically emailed 24 hours after order placement.

The BLS Instructor Course teaches AHA policies and procedures along with methods to effectively instruct the BLS Healthcare Provider course and First Aid CPR AED Courses.

This class provides all the requirements necessary to successfully complete the course and receive your instructor certification.

In order to attend the course, the following items must be received (Must be purchase separately): 

  1. Current American Heart Association BLS Provider Card
  2. Online AHA BLS Instructor Essentials Course (Can be purchased HERE)
  3. Online NIHE Training Center Orientation Course (Can be purchased HERE)

Included in the course fee:

  • Course Monitoring (Observed Teaching)
  • Training Center alignment (NIHE - National Institute of Healthcare Education)
  • Training Center annual affiliation fee

BLS Provider Certification is REQUIRED prior to becoming a BLS instructor. You may add the "BLS Provider Course" when you check out and call us to schedule BEFORE the BLS Instructor Course

Heartsaver® First Aid Training

 

The Heartsaver First Aid course trains participants first aid basics for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) and the 2015 AHA/Red Cross Guidelines for First Aid.

Who should take this course?

The AHA Heartsaver First Aid Course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

An AHA ACLS eCard, which is valid for 2 years is issued after the successful completion of both steps.

HeartCode® BLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the BLS Provider Course. It provides a flexible, convenient way to learn basic life support skills, and it is completed in two easy steps:

  • Complete the online BLS HeartCode® Course at your convenience. This portion is self-paced and can be completed on your own time. You can order the online course here.
  • After completing the online course, schedule a Classroom Skills Session from the available dates and times listed.

Upon successful completion of both steps, you will be issued an AHA BLS eCard, valid for 2 years.

Please Note: The cost of this course only covers the “Hands-on Skills Session.” It does not include the online BLS HeartCode® Course. Before participating in the hands-on skills session, you must complete “Step 1: Online HeartCode® BLS Course”, obtain the online course, and secure a certificate of completion.

Choosing the “BLS HeartCode® Course” option is mandatory if you have not completed the BLS HeartCode® Online Course. A certificate of completion is a prerequisite for participation in the hands-on skills session and the issuance of your BLS card.

Heartsaver® Courses

General information: Heartsaver® Courses are for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory or other requirements. Heartsaver® courses are designed to meet OSHA requirements. 

This course is designed to prepare students to provide first aid in a safe, timely, and effective manner. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

Upon successful completion of the course, including a first aid skills demonstration, students receive a Heartsaver First Aid  CPR AED course completion card.

Students Receive: AHA Heartsaver® eCard in their email immediately after the course which is valid for 2 years

Course fee includes Student Provider ebook.

Our training program includes instructor-led classroom sessions, self-paced online learning, and practical hands-on applications. The curriculum covers basic home health aide skills and meets the standards set by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). Upon completion, graduates will receive an HHA training certificate under Bay Area Direct Client Care.  75 hours completed under Section 400.497(1), F.S.

The course lineup meets the 24-hour online portion of the LPN IV Series continuing education requirement, complemented by an additional 6 hours of hands-on skills practice. This combination ensures students fulfill the 30-hour requirement for Florida LPN IV Certification.  Additionally, all certificate hours earned for the State of Florida are electronically reported directly to CEBroker as part of the program package.  NOTE: YOU MUST BE A LPN TO ENROLL IN THIS CLASS!

  7. LPN IV Series: Parenteral Nutrition – 2.00 Contact Hours
  8. LPN IV Series: Venipuncture and Maintenance – 4.00 Contact Hours

65 G Medication Class: Designed to service Agencies for Persons of Disability (APD) Consumers, this 6-hour class is essential for individuals intending to work in APD group homes, foster homes, or family homes. Following the class, mandatory validation through face-to-face administration with an APD client will be scheduled. Successful completion of this class and subsequent validation will result in a certificate of completion. The total cost for this class is $95.  Please note the validation is included in price but must be scheduled post completion of class.

PALS Provider

General information: The American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course trains healthcare providers with clinical responsibilities in pediatric critical care. PALS places emphasis on the most recent evidence-based resuscitation science for cardiac and respiratory emergencies existing in infants and children. This program utilizes assessment surveys and megacode scenarios to practice team resuscitation. 

Students Receive: AHA PALS eCard which is valid for 2 years 

The AHA requires that all renewal students bring a copy of their current (non-expired) PALS card to the renewal course.
